    Hi, Mukesh,

    Teachers generally don’t get paid anywhere near that. But in the article that you cite, there is a special charter school in NYC that is slated to open next year that will pay that to teachers. It is an anomaly, but should be the norm.

    My wife is a special-ed teacher, and you just can’t believe the amount of work that these kinds of teachers (as well as most other teachers) do, that is not paid for or appreciated.

    I think if we paid our teachers, nurses, firefighters, etc. what they deserved, and we paid CEOs what they deserved, we’d have a much better situation that the “Bizarro” pay scales we have now.

    We can dream, can’t we?
